Bible Bookmarks

Activity Objective:
To create bookmarks for the children's Bibles
Lesson Outcome:
The children will be able to locate Scripture passages.
Materials
  • 2 ½" x 8" strips of heavy construction paper
  • Markers
  • Bibles
  • Clear contact paper
  • Religious stickers (optional)
Directions:
  • After the children have had some time to look through their Bibles, invite them to create Bible bookmarks.
  • Ask each child to choose one of the following passages (or a favorite passage of his or her own).
  • Instruct the children to copy their verses onto the strips of construction paper.
  • Once the verses are copied, the children may add religious symbols or stickers.
  • When the bookmarks are finished, cover both sides of them with contact paper.

Approximate Time:
5-10 minutes
Hints:
If a child chooses his or her own Scripture passage, make sure that the content of the passage is appropriate.
Sensitivities:
If there are children in your group with special needs (physical, visual, hearing, language, or behavioral disabilities), adapt the activity accordingly.
