Bible Cheer

Activity Objective:
To chant and cheer a phrase that will help the children remember the meaning of the Bible.
Lesson Outcome:
The children will identify the Bible as God's special message.
Directions:
  • Invite the children to form a circle.
  • Lead the group in a cheer as follows, clapping and stamping:

“The Bible is the Book about God's love for us.”

  • Tell the children to just listen to the words and the rhythm of the cheer the first two times.
  • Then, ask the children to join in the clapping and the stamping.
  • On the fourth time, have the children join in with both the words and actions.
  • After the children have learned the cheer, switch the clapping and stamping to jumping or other actions, if you prefer.

Approximate Time:
5 minutes
Hints:
Make sure the children have room to spread out so that they don't accidentally hit others or objects around them while doing the cheer.
Sensitivities:
If there are children in your group with special needs (physical, visual, hearing, language, or behavioral disabilities), adapt the activity accordingly.
