Child of God Badges

Activity Objective:
To have the children understand that they are children of God
Lesson Outcome:
The children will understand the importance of depending on God.
Materials
  • Three-inch circles cut from light-colored construction paper
  • Markers
  • Hole punch
  • Yarn
Directions:
  • Give each child a circle with a hole punched in it near the edge.
  • On the board have written the sentence I am a child of God.
  • Instruct the children to copy the phrase onto their circles.
  • Thread a piece of yarn through the hole in the circle so that the children can wear the badges around their necks.
  • Ask the group this question, Who are you?
  • Have the children answer as a group, I am a child of God.
  • Prompt the children to tell others who they are.

Approximate Time:
10 minutes
Hints:
The words can be copied onto the badges. The words should have thick letters so that the children can color them.

Punch a hole in the circles prior to the activity.
Sensitivities:
Make sure the yarn is not tied too tightly to any of the children.
