Dramatic Play of Jesus with the Teachers

Activity Objective:
To teach the children to act out the story of Jesus with the Teachers
Lesson Outcome:
The children will tell the story of Jesus obeying his parents.
Materials
  • Bible
Directions:
  • After reading the Bible story of Jesus with the Teachers, ask for children to volunteer to be Jesus, Mary, Joseph, and the rabbis at the Temple.
  • As you narrate, direct the children to act out the story. Encourage them to use the appropriate body language to show how each person felt.
  • Act out the story a second time and choose one of the children to be the narrator, as well as different children to play the other parts.

10-15 minutes
Hints:
Depending on the size of your group, you may want to repeat the activity so other children get an opportunity to take on a role.
Sensitivities:
If there are children in your group with special needs (physical, visual, hearing, language, or behavioral disabilities), adapt the activity accordingly.
