Echo Song

God is Our Father

Activity Objective:
For the children to sing a song to help them internalize that God is our Father and that Jesus is our brother
Lesson Outcome:
The children will understand that God gave us his only Son, Jesus, to teach us that God is our Father.
Materials
  • Cassette or CD player
  • Tape or CD of Hi, God! #1, by Carey Landry
Directions:
  • Explain to the group that they will be singing a song to help them remember that God is our Father and that Jesus is our brother.
  • Tell the children that the song "God Is Our Father" is what is called an echo song. This means that the singer says one line and then you and the children repeat it after him.
  • After explaining this to the children, listen to the song once as a class and invite the children join in with the verses. You can all sing the refrain together and add simple hand gestures along with the words.
