ABOUT THE POSITION

Loyola Press is seeking a full time Marketing Coordinator, Trade. As the Marketing Coordinator, you will be in a unique position to experience the full scope of the publishing process. The Trade marketing team is responsible for launching approximately 20 new titles per year while also promoting a vital and respected backlist. We're looking for someone with top‐notch organizational skills, sharp communication abilities, extraordinary attention to detail and deadlines, and the ability to handle many projects at once. Some of the specific responsibilities of the job include:

  • Help to design and execute creative marketing campaigns
  • Contribute to positioning products within the marketplace by defining the product vision, audience, and intent
  • Oversee the execution of small-, medium-, and large-scale marketing projects intended to increase sales, including annual catalog, seasonal mailings, and email campaigns
  • Create, maintain, and distribute product metadata to coworkers, other departments, and outside vendors
  • Track and analyze success of marketing campaigns and sales forecasts
  • Plan and prepare for sales meetings, trade shows, and marketing meetings
  • Assist the Business Development Manager with some light administrative support

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate has 2 years' experience in a professional environment, and a desire to grow into a role with gradually increasing responsibility and ownership of his or her projects. He or she will also have:

  • Meticulous attention to details while juggling multiple projects and responsibilities at the same time
  • Superior communication, creative thinking, and writing skills
  • Consistently high quality of work while projecting a positive attitude in a collaborative environment
  • Knowledge of Catholicism and/or experience working for a Catholic organization is a plus

MARKETING DESIGNER

ABOUT THE POSITION

Loyola Press is seeking a graphic designer with proven experience and success in creating highly effective designs for marketing campaigns who can:

  • Lead visual design throughout the entire marketing campaign process, from initial explorations through final design deliverables
  • Create highly effective designs for print and digital marketing campaigns, including postcards, brochures, catalogs, social media, email, display ads, and banner ads
  • Oversee all digital visual elements, including illustrations, typography, layout, imagery, and iconography
  • Ensure visual and brand identity
  • Execute assigned projects: create layouts and new designs, monitor project budgets and schedules, commission and work with illustrators/photographers, conduct image research for print and web promotions
  • Create/maintain standards & specs for the production of marketing projects
  • Create modular, scalable work that can be easily repeated and produced as well as one-offs and complex executions

ABOUT YOU

  • B.A. or B.F.A. with a graphic design focus
  • 5+ years of publishing design and project management experience
  • Strong design and organizational abilities
  • Expert working knowledge of design tools and software such as InDesign, Photoshop, and InCopy
  • Knowledge of industry stock sites and illustration sources
  • Aptitude to manage multiple projects of varying complexities at once, meet deadlines, work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Web and App design experience a plus
  • Experience in publishing or familiarity with Catholic school markets a plus
  • Proven graphic design experience

  • Write and edit compelling, strong promotional copy for Loyola Press print and web marketing materials with the express intent of increasing sales and brand awareness, ensuring that web copy is optimized for search engines and user-friendly
  • Communicate core Catholic faith concepts in a compelling and authentic method
  • Position products within the marketplace and company by defining the product vision, audience, and intent
  • Ensure that core product messaging is consistently conveyed across product promotions
  • Provide meticulous copyediting, consistency reviews, and proofing for all marketing pieces
  • Conduct product presentations as needed
  • Support Sales by developing tools and collateral and by responding to marketing related inquires
  • Some travel required
