Family Sundays

Activity Objective:
The young people will propose ways to celebrate Sundays with their family and parish community.
Lesson Outcome:
The young people should be able to express an understanding of what it means to keep holy the Lord's Day.
Directions:
  • Review the Third Commandment with the young people. Invite them to share practical ways they live it personally and with their families.
  • Brainstorm with the group ways of making Sunday a family day. Begin with what they already do and then invite them to come up with new possibilities. Write their answers on the board.
  • Make copies of the suggestions and send them home with the young people. You may also choose to create an insert for your parish bulletin or school newsletter.
