Happy Toss

Activity Objective:
To reinforce with the children how happy God's creation makes us
Lesson Outcome:
The children will describe the feeling of happiness that comes from seeing God's beauty and love in creation.
Materials
  • Large light weight ball, perhaps a beach ball
Directions:
  • Suggest to the children how happy it makes us to play ball with friends. Tell them they will play a ball game in which they will tell about something beautiful in nature that God lovingly created that makes them happy.
  • Ask the children to join you in a large circle.
  • Begin by enthusiastically describing something that makes you happy. (Example: The reds and pinks and oranges in a beautiful sunset make me so happy.)
  • Toss the ball to one of the children and ask him or her to make a happy statement and then toss the ball to someone else.
  • Continue until everyone has had a turn.
  • Conclude by remarking about how many wonderful things we have to enjoy and be thankful for because of God's great love for us.
Learning Styles:
Body Smart
Approximate Time:
5 minutes
Hints:
Encourage the children to toss the ball to a different person each time so everyone will have a turn.
