Growing in Prayer

Activity Objective:

The young people will reflect on their responses to God's invitation to spiritual growth.

Lesson Outcome:

The young people should be able to define personal prayer.

Directions:

Engage the young people in a discussion about ways people their age pray. Write their ideas on the board.
Form groups of three or four young people.
Ask the groups to discuss what they like most about prayer and what they find easiest. Then ask them to discuss what they find most difficult about prayer.
Invite one person from each group to share aloud the answers of his or her group.
After each group has shared, have the entire group brainstorm ways they might address some of their issues about what they find most difficult about prayer.
