Healing Words

Activity Objective:
To experience Psalm 34 through artistic expression
Lesson Outcome:
The children will identify that Jesus used words to teach and to heal.
Materials
  • Large drawing paper
  • Markers, colored pencils ,pens
  • Chalkboard
Directions:
  • Arrange the children in four groups.
  • Remind them that Jesus used words to teach and heal. Jesus' words brought goodness and peace.
  • Introduce Psalm 34 by explaining that this psalm is about how we should use our words.
  • Assign each group a line from Psalm 34.
  • Instruct the children to work together to illustrate with words and images what is meant by each line.
  • Invite the children to share their illustrations.
  • Display the illustrations.
  • Pray the psalm together.
