Healing Words

Activity Objective:

To experience Psalm 34 through artistic expression

Lesson Outcome:

The children will identify that Jesus used words to teach and to heal.

Materials

Directions:

Arrange the children in four groups.
Remind them that Jesus used words to teach and heal. Jesus' words brought goodness and peace.
Introduce Psalm 34 by explaining that this psalm is about how we should use our words.
Assign each group a line from Psalm 34.
Instruct the children to work together to illustrate with words and images what is meant by each line.
Invite the children to share their illustrations.
Display the illustrations.
Pray the psalm together.
