In Housing Heaven’s Fire, author John Haughey, SJ, issues a call to holiness in our lives. Haughey offers sharp insights into the nature of holiness and shares his personal efforts to respond to the challenge of holiness. Drawing on his extensive knowledge of Scripture, theology, philosophy, and literature, Haughey projects a prismatic view of the many facets of holiness, and he examines holiness from the perspective of the Hebrew Sriptures, the Israelites and their call, Jesus, and St. Paul. Though a call to holiness may seem daunting—and holiness is something we should constantly be striving for—we come to realize through this book that holiness is also a gift we have already received.
