How It Came to Be

Activity Objective:
The young people will reflect on how passages from the Old Testament were fulfilled according to the Infancy Narratives.
Lesson Outcome:
The young people should be able to identify Jesus as the fulfillment of the covenant.
Materials
  • Bibles
Directions:
Divide the young people into groups of three or four. Assign one or more Scripture passages to each group. Have each group reflect on the Old Testament passage. Then ask them to explain how the birth of Jesus fulfilled what was written. Invite the groups to share their passages and explanations with the entire group. Suggested Scripture passages: Psalm 2:7-9; Isaiah 7:13-14; Isaiah 9:1-2; Isaiah 9:5-6; Isaiah 40:3, 9; Isaiah 11:1-2; Micah 5:1; Malachi 3:1; Hosea 11:1
