Easter Activity

Activity Objective:
To have children view Easter as a time to spread joy to others
Lesson Outcome:
The children will create cards with the themes of joy and Easter to share with homebound members of the parish.
Materials
  • Construction paper
  • Markers
  • Easter and Spring stickers
Directions:
  • Have the children create and design Easter cards using the construction paper, markers, and stickers.
  • Encourage the children to use the word joy in their cards.
  • Collect the cards.
  • Ask your Ministers of Care to take them to homebound parishioners and nursing home residents.

Approximate Time:
10 minutes
Hints:
Write a few sample Easter greetings on the board. This will help ensure appropriateness and spelling.

Talk to the children about people who are homebound or who live alone in a nursing home. Explain how important it is to keep in contact with these people and that the children are acting in the name of all parishioners.
