Laypeople participate in Christ’s priestly ministry, offering spiritual worship for the glory of God and praying for the needs of God’s people and all creation. The Constitution on the Church of the Second Vatican Council reminds us that “as worshipers whose every deed is holy, the laity consecrate the world itself to God.” This consecration refers to all aspects of our lives—family, work, prayer, relaxation, and even hardship. We are offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God if we carry out these activities in the Spirit.
