Life of Saint Francis

Activity Objective:

To illustrate the life of Saint Francis

Lesson Outcome:

The children will explain how Saint Francis dedicated his life to God.

Materials

Directions:

Reread the story of Saint Francis' life.
Distribute the materials.
Encourage the children to imagine that they have been selected to create the jacket for a new book on the life of Saint Francis.
Explain that the book jacket will be a reader's first contact with the book.
Instruct the children to illustrate the book jacket based on the life of Francis.
Upon completion, invite the children to share their work and discuss the events in Francis' life and how he dedicated his life to God.
If possible, display the book jackets in the room.
