Living Stones

Activity Objective:
To relate a tangible thing to the reality that the children are living signs of God's presence on earth
Lesson Outcome:
The children will have examples of the ways we are called to be signs of Jesus' presence.
Materials
  • Small stones
  • Permanent markers
Directions:
  • Distribute the stones and markers.
  • Invite the children to write their names on the stones.
  • Brainstorm with the children how they can be living signs of God's presence, how they can be Jesus for one another.
  • Invite the children to take their stones home.
  • Instruct the children to keep their stones in places where they will see them everyday.
  • Reinforce that the stones will remind them that they are called to be living signs of God's presence.
Learning Styles:
Self Smart
Approximate Time:
5 minutes
Hints:
The stones should be large enough to accommodate each child's name.

If the stones are small, the children could carry them in their pockets as a reminder.
