The Church recognizes the unique role that Mary had in the life of Jesus and that she now has in the Church. She carries the titles Mother of God and Mother of the Church, among others. She is also our mother, and Marian months are months dedicated to the devotion of Mary.
In May, devotion to Mary is made known through the crowning of statues of Mary, the recognition of her role as Queen of All Saints.
October 7th is the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary; during the entire month praying the Rosary is encouraged.
