Miracles of Jesus

Activity Objective:
The young people will identify messages associated with the miracles performed by Jesus.
Lesson Outcome:
The young people should be able to explain how Jesus heals through the Anointing of the Sick.
Materials
  • Bibles
  • Index cards
  • Pencils
Directions:
Review some of Jesus' miracles found in the Gospels. Talk about the message that Jesus communicates in each story. For example: John 6:20 (It is I. Do not be afraid.); Matthew 9:2 (Courage, child. Your sins are forgiven.) Have the young people use their Bibles to find other miracles of Jesus. Instruct them to choose one and to write the message from the story on an index card. Have the young people exchange index cards with one another and tell which miracle they chose. Ask the young people to memorize their own quotation and the one they received.
Learning Styles:
People Smart,Word Smart
Approximate Time:
20-25 minutes
Hints:
Distribute to each young person two index cards—one for his or her own message and one to copy the other person's message.
