Moved By the Spirit

Activity Objective:
The young people will reflect on the Holy Spirit and the Christian life.
Lesson Outcome:
The young people should be able to express an understanding of growing in the Holy Spirit as related to growing in the Church.
Materials
  • Bibles
  • 9 x 12 sheets of paper (1 per young person)
  • Watercolor paints, paintbrushes
  • Unlined index cards (5 x 8) (1 per young person)
  • Markers or crayons
  • Glue
  • Construction paper for picture frames
  • Newspaper
Directions:

1.Wet a 9 x 12 sheet of paper and then brush on paint. (Encourage them to use colors that represent the tone of the passage they selected.) Set aside the paper to dry.
2.Draw on the index card a picture that fits the Scripture passage. Leave a blank space and then write the passage in that space.
3.Glue the index card onto the dried sheet of paper.
4.Make a frame out of construction paper, leaving a one-inch margin all the way around the work.

  • Display the artwork in an appropriate place.
