Pass It On

Activity Objective:

To encourage the children to express their love for others

Lesson Outcome:

The children will appreciate Jesus' great love for everyone.

Materials

Directions:

Have red construction-paper hearts cut out prior to the session.
Distribute one heart to each child.
Instruct the children to decorate the heart and write Thank You on it.
Talk to the group about how important it is to let others know we love them. Relate it to the ways Jesus showed his love for us.
Encourage the children to give their decorated heart and pass it to someone they love.
In the next session, ask the children how it felt to pass on their love by giving a heart to another person.

Hints:

Have extra hearts available for children who may need more than one. Be aware if a child's family has experienced a divorce.

Sensitivities:

Some children may not want to share aloud how they passed on their heart. Don't require them to share.
