Pass It On

Activity Objective:
To encourage the children to express their love for others
Lesson Outcome:
The children will appreciate Jesus' great love for everyone.
Materials
  • Red construction paper
  • Pencils or markers
Directions:
  • Have red construction-paper hearts cut out prior to the session.
  • Distribute one heart to each child.
  • Instruct the children to decorate the heart and write Thank You on it.
  • Talk to the group about how important it is to let others know we love them. Relate it to the ways Jesus showed his love for us.
  • Encourage the children to give their decorated heart and pass it to someone they love.
  • In the next session, ask the children how it felt to pass on their love by giving a heart to another person.
Learning Styles:
People Smart
Approximate Time:
10 minutes
Hints:
Have extra hearts available for children who may need more than one. Be aware if a child's family has experienced a divorce.
Sensitivities:
Some children may not want to share aloud how they passed on their heart. Don't require them to share.
