Planning Saint Isidore's Feast Day

Activity Objective:
To teach the children the importance of a feast day
Lesson Outcome:
The children will be able to identify Saint Isidore as someone who cared for God's creation.
Directions:
  • Tell the children that they are in charge of planning Saint Isidore's Feast Day.
  • Divide the group into four smaller groups. Assign each group one of these topics: food, pets, place, and party favors.
  • Each group must discuss their topic and what they would bring and why to the feast day.
  • Give the children five minutes to discuss their answers.
  • Then invite each group to present their answers to the class.
Learning Styles:
People Smart
Approximate Time:
10 minutes
Hints:
You may have to help each group brainstorm ideas about their topic.

Tell the children to keep their answers related to the times when Saint Isidore lived (no modern-day answers).

At presentation time, make sure each group member speaks.
