Prayer Circle

Activity Objective:
To teach the children that God wants us to pray to him for healing
Lesson Outcome:
The children will learn to turn to God when they need his help.
Directions:
  • Tell the children that they are going to ask for God's healing through prayer.
  • Brainstorm with the children about people who are in need of God's healing.
  • Record the children's answers on the board.
  • Ask the children to form a prayer circle in the middle of the room.
  • Encourage the children to name one person they know or have heard of who needs healing from God.
  • Ask the children to present their intentions like this: "For my aunt who is sick."
  • Encourage the other children in the circle to respond by saying, "We pray to the Lord."
  • Pray the Lord's Prayer together.
  • Conclude by reminding the children that God wants us to pray to him for healing.
