Preparing for Sunday

Activity Objective:

The young people will learn ways to prepare for the Sunday Scripture readings.

Lesson Outcome:

The young people should be able to identify actions that show how we keep the Lord's Day holy.

Materials

Directions:

Each week, present the upcoming Sunday's readings, using one of the following approaches:
Have a young person read aloud a passage for the group and let the young people write a homily that flows from the reading, applying its message to daily life.
Present the three readings and have the group discuss why they were chosen for the same celebration.
The young people could interpret the readings through a skit or news report.
Discuss a thought from the Gospel Reading that could be an inspiration for the coming week.
Have each young person print the psalm response or Gospel verse on a card and post it at home or in the classroom.
