Activity Objective:
The young people will come to value more deeply the gift of life and how to protect and nurture it.
Lesson Outcome:
The young people should be able to explain that the Fifth Commandment teaches us to love our enemies and to protect human life.
Materials
  • Newspaper clipping
  • Paper
  • Pencils
  • Glue
Directions:
  • Direct the young people to bring in newspaper articles that relate to life issues.
  • Have the young people glue their articles onto sheets of paper.
  • In the space below the article, have the young people write a letter to the editor or to a person mentioned in the article as they imagine Jesus might write it.
  • Invite volunteers to share their articles and letters.
