Sacraments Song

Activity Objective:
To sing a song that helps the children understand the meaning of the sacraments
Lesson Outcome:
The children will understand that the sacraments are signs of Jesus' love for us.
Directions:
  • Ask the children if they know the song "Clementine."
  • Sing the song once so that everyone can remember the melody.
  • Tell the children that they are going to learn a new song to help them remember the meaning of the sacraments, using the same melody as "Clementine."
  • Sing the song once by yourself and then have the children join in with you the next time.

We share sacraments,

Special moments,

When we feel so close to God,

They help us live as Jesus,

And they are signs of his love.

Learning Styles:
Music Smart
Approximate Time:
10-15 minutes
Hints:
If the children are having difficulty remembering the words, you may choose to write them out on poster board and ask the children to read along as you sing.
Sensitivities:
If there are children in your group with special needs (physical, visual, hearing, language, or behavioral disabilities), adapt the activity accordingly.
