Trinity Activity

Activity Objective:
To teach the children ways in which they can share the love of the Trinity with others
Lesson Outcome:
The children will respond to the invitation to share the love of the Trinity by helping others.
Materials
  • Large butcher-paper letters S-H-A-R-E
  • Colored markers
Directions:
  • Ask children to think of what they reflected on after praying the Sign of the Cross. Tell them they are going to work together to think of ways of sharing God's love by helping others.
  • Divide the children into five groups. Give each group one large letter and one or two colored markers.
  • Ask the groups to discuss specific things they might do to help those in need that can be expressed in phrases that start with their letter. (Examples: S—sit with someone who's lonely; H—help with dishes)
  • Invite them to take turns writing their phrases inside their letter.
  • Conclude with a sharing time, and then display the completed word. Remind children that we share God's love even in our smallest helpful acts.
Learning Styles:
People Smart,Word Smart
Approximate Time:
10 minutes
Hints:
Make the letters large enough so the children can write inside them.
