In announcing the Year of Mercy, Pope Francis urged all Catholics to spend more time practicing the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy. He declared, "May the balm of mercy reach everyone, both believers and those far away, as a sign that the kingdom of God is already present in our midst."

In The Works of Mercy for Families (a 2-sided, 8.5" x 11" laminated card), beautiful artwork surrounds the words taken from the Gospel of Matthew. One side shows the Corporal Works of Mercy and the other shows the Spiritual Works of Mercy. Each side provides examples of how to perform the Works of Mercy, written by Tom McGrath, author of Raising Faith-Filled Kids.

The Works of Mercy, a Loyola Press resource, offers a way to teach and reflect with children on both the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy, and to keep Jesus' call to bear mercy to those in need forefront in our minds and hearts.
