Stars Who Give Us Light

Activity Objective:
To have the children discover and acknowledge people in their lives who are good role models—light givers
Lesson Outcome:
The children will look for people who act as stars to be followed, and they will say thank you to these people.
Materials
  • Yellow construction-paper stars
  • Scissors
  • Markers
Directions:
  • Give each child three yellow stars to cut out.
  • Remind the children of the Three Wise Men following the star to Jesus. Are there people who are like stars who lead the children to Jesus?
  • Have them write Thanks for your light. on each star.
  • Encourage the children to take their stars home and pass them out to people who give them good light to follow.
  • Follow up at the next session to get reactions from passing out the stars and receiving the stars.

Hints:
Have extra stars available for children who want more stars to pass on.
