Temples of the Holy Spirit

Activity Objective:
To express artistically how we are temples of the Holy Spirit
Lesson Outcome:
The children will identify their bodies as gifts from God.
Materials
  • Drawing paper
  • Markers, colored pencils, pens
Directions:
  • Reinforce what Saint Paul says about our bodies in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.
  • Discuss what a temple is.
  • Revisit symbols of the Holy Spirit with the children, such as a dove, flame, wind, or others.
  • Invite the children to imagine how they are temples of the Holy Spirit.
  • •Instruct the children to draw a picture of themselves as a temple of the Holy Spirit.
  • Further instruct the children to surround their temples (themselves) with images of the sacraments that help us in our daily lives.
  • Encourage the children to share their creations.
