The Lord's Prayer Mural

Activity Objective:
To draw pictures to illustrate the meaning of the Lord's Prayer
Lesson Outcome:
The children will pray and understand the Lord's Prayer.
Materials
  • Large sheets of paper (with the phrases from the Lord's Prayer written on the
  •  top of each, should be written before the session)
  • Markers and crayons
  • Masking tape
Directions:
  • Ask the children to find partners.
  • Pass out the sheets of paper with a phrase from the Lord's Prayer at the top.
  • Invite the pairs to decide how and what they will draw on their sheets to show the meaning of their phrases.
  • Encourage the children to draw their pictures large and bright so that their work will be easily seen.
  • Tape all the sheets together to form a mural of the Lord's Prayer.

Hints:
Lord's Prayer:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Sensitivities:
