The Lord's Prayer Mural

Activity Objective:

To draw pictures to illustrate the meaning of the Lord's Prayer

Lesson Outcome:

The children will pray and understand the Lord's Prayer.

Materials

Large sheets of paper (with the phrases from the Lord's Prayer written on the
top of each, should be written before the session)
Markers and crayons
Masking tape

Directions:

Ask the children to find partners.
Pass out the sheets of paper with a phrase from the Lord's Prayer at the top.
Invite the pairs to decide how and what they will draw on their sheets to show the meaning of their phrases.
Encourage the children to draw their pictures large and bright so that their work will be easily seen.
Tape all the sheets together to form a mural of the Lord's Prayer.

Lord's Prayer:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
