Terry Hershey, popular speaker and frequent retreat leader, understands that life is busy and getting busier. However, he also knows from personal experience that there is always a price to pay if we don’t regularly take time simply to pause—to cease activity, to treasure quiet time, and to discern the deep meaning of life’s little moments.
In The Power of Pause, Hershey encourages all of us to slow down and reconnect with what’s important in life. Through 52 short chapters featuring powerful stories and meditations, inspiring quotations, and everyday opportunities for simplicity, we learn how to take back the life that God always intended for us to have—a life that revolves not so much around doing, but simply being.
Terry Hershey is the founder of Hershey & Associates, an organization that provides workshops and seminars on building balanced lives and healthy relationships. Terry is also a professional landscape designer who savors daily pauses in his personal garden behind his home on Vashon Island, Washington, where he lives with his wife and son. He is the author of eight books, including Beginning Again (Thomas Nelson) and Soul Gardening: Cultivating the Good Life (Augsburg Fortress).
