We Can Help

Activity Objective:
To encourage the children to act out problems in our world and collaborate to create solutions
Lesson Outcome:
The children will identify some of the problems in our world and discuss how people can help to create solutions.
Directions:
  • Gather the children in groups of four and ask each group to decide on a world or community problem.
  • Indicate to the children that this needs to be a problem they can act out for the whole group.
  • Give the children a few minutes to put together a short mimed skit that illustrates the problem.
  • Each group takes a turn presenting their skit. The remaining children form the audience.
  • After each presentation the audience must decide what the problem is and brainstorm possible solutions.
  • Conclude by reiterating the problems and solutions presented by the children and reinforcing how we can help.

5-10 minutes
Hints:
Circulate around the room and encourage the children as they practice their skits.
