Pope Francis Talks with Children with Special Needs

On February 5, 2015, Pope Francis participated in a live conversation via video with children with disabilities and special needs from around the world. It was a lively conversation, with the Pope asking questions about their lives, their studies, and themselves. The children, in return, asked the Pope for advice and his message to others. The Pope’s response echoes what people who work with and for children with special needs and their families already know:

“What you do from the place where you are helps all of us. Helps us to understand that life is a beautiful treasure. It only makes sense if we give it…. What I want to say is don’t hide the treasure that all of you have.”
