Before you begin, pause for a few moments and relax. Take several deep breaths. Be aware of the loving presence of God within you.

Psalm 34:15

Turn from evil and do good;seek peace and pursue it.

This sounds like common sense. While at first glance this verse might seem passive, it includes four action verbs that belie its initial appearance-turn, do, seek and pursue. There is nothing passive here. The life of discipleship is active, dynamic, and vigilant. A disciple is constantly in the process of personal conversion. This process creates a chain reaction that gathers momentum as it goes, leading others to experience the peace and freedom of the Kingdom of God.
Am I a peacekeeper or a peacemaker?
How might I make more conscious choices to turn from evil and do good?
(Speak to God, using this prayer or a prayer of your own.)

Jesus, thank you for calling me to conversion of life. Guide my feet on the path to peace.

Amen.
