As you begin your retreat, pause for a few moments to reflect and be aware of the loving presence of God, who is with you as you continue this journey of growth and discovery.

Mark 10:16

Then he embraced them and blessed them, placing his hands on them.

Children are valuable to Jesus for who they are. Just as in this story from Mark, parents bring children to church so that Jesus will touch their lives. It is important for children to know of Jesus and his great love. In the sacraments we experience the love of Jesus through physical signs. Nourished by the sacraments, we, the Body of Christ on earth today, accept and embrace children with the love of Jesus.

Do I see children with the eyes of Jesus, accepting them for who they are at this moment?

What can children show me about accepting the Kingdom of God?
