To celebrate the Communion of Saints by helping others

The children will explore ways in which they help their church community.

• Poster paper, markers
• Guest speaker

• Invite the children to share the ways in which we can be united to Christ through acts of holiness and good works.
• Write their suggestions on poster paper. Ask the children to share if they have participated in any of the suggestions they've listed.
• Invite a member of your parish to speak with the children about how he or she lives a life of holiness and does good works.
• Encourage the children to ask the speaker questions. (Perhaps use the list that the children created earlier to guide some of their questions.)

Arrange for a speaker to visit the group a week or two prior to teaching this session. Ask your parish catechetical leader for help in arranging this visit.
