Holy Saturday

by Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan

Holy Saturday is a mixed day. We know that the worst is over, the horror of the Passion and Death of Jesus on the Cross. But the glory of the Resurrection isn’t here yet. We’re between the already—the victory and the triumph that Jesus has won—and the not yet—when everything is victorious under his reign. We’re in that posture between Good Friday and Easter Sunday. We’re in it literally on Holy Saturday, but we find ourselves in that tension most of our lives, don’t we?
