Jubilee 2025: Pilgrims of Hope

The Church will celebrate a Jubilee Year in 2025, with the theme of “Pilgrims of Hope.” A jubilee is a time of pilgrimage, reconciliation, and prayer. While special events will occur in Rome throughout the Holy Year 2025, Pope Francis has asked all Catholics to prepare by studying the documents of the Second Vatican Council in 2023 and focusing on prayer in 2024.

The Year of Prayer invites us to an intense focus on prayer in preparation to embrace our evangelizing role as pilgrims of hope. Pope Francis extends that invitation: “I ask you to intensify your prayers, in order to prepare ourselves to live this event of grace well, and to experience the strength of God’s hope. …a year dedicated to rediscovering the great value and absolute need for prayer in personal life, in the life of the Church, and in the world.” (Angelus, January 21, 2024)
