Materials

  • Bibles
  • Poster paper
  • Colored paper
  • Crayons, pens, pencils

Directions

  • Invite the children to open their Bibles to Ezekiel 37:1-12.
  • Allow the children to follow along silently as you read aloud the passage.
  • After the reading, allow a few moments for discussion.
  • Encourage the children to recall events from the passage.
  • When you feel the children are ready for the activity, have them recreate the events from Ezekiel in their own illustrative comic strips.
  • Allow the children to work in pairs if some are uncomfortable with their drawing skills.
  • Provide the children with coloring materials and make yourself available to help with questions that may arise.
  • When all the children have completed their drawings, invite volunteers to share their work with the larger group.
  • As the volunteers share, be sure to ask them questions about the events and about how we can carry on Jesus' message in our lives today.
  • Conclude the activity by saying: The Holy Spirit transforms us and helps us to know how to live out God's plan for our lives. May you act in ways that show the Holy Spirit's presence in your lives.
