Jesus' Friends

The young people will reflect on Jesus' friendship with Peter and John.

The young people should be able to explain that Jesus came to teach us how to live in relationship with the Father and one another.

• Bibles
• Pencils, paper
• List of Bible citations

• Invite the young people to use their Bibles to learn more about two of Jesus' friends.
• Have them use their Bibles to choose one of the citations listed below.
• Based on their passage, direct them to imagine the conversation that might have taken place the first time Jesus met the apostles after his Resurrection.
• Jesus with Peter: John 1:40-42; Matthew 16:13-23; John 13:2-11; John 13:36-38; Mark 14:32-42; John 18:10-11; John 18:15-27
• Jesus with John: Matthew 4:21-22; Mark 10:35-40; Luke 22:7-13
• Direct the young people to write down their conversations.
• Ask volunteers to share their work.
