Lenten Prayer Cards
Activity Objective
To explore the ways in which we honor our commitment to God during the Lenten season
Lesson Outcome
The children will be able to explain that during Lent all Christians are called to fast, to pray, and to share.
Materials
- Bibles
- Pens, pencils, and paper
- Markers or crayons
Directions
- Invite the children to create prayer cards by folding a sheet of paper in half. On the cards the children should ask God to help them stay true to their Lenten promises.
- Encourage the children to write one of their Lenten promises on the front of the card and then a special prayer asking for God's guidance on the inside of the card.
- Allow the children plenty of time to decorate their cards.
- When they are finished, encourage the children to keep their cards in a special place at home.
