Revealing Someone Special

Activity Objective

To help the children appreciate God as our loving Father by sharing a loving and caring person in their own lives

Lesson Outcome

The children will explain that God is our Father who loves us, cares for us, and forgives us when we do wrong.

Directions

  • Explain to the children that they will tell about caring adults in their lives to help them understand that God is our loving Father.
  • Divide the children into groups of four or five. Ask them to sit comfortably on the floor or around a desk.
  • Ask the children to repeat the meaning of reveal (making known what was not known before). Remind them that Jesus revealed to us what God is like.
  • Invite them to take turns revealing to their group an adult who is a loving and caring person to them and why this person is so special.
  • After everyone has had a turn, bring the groups back together and conclude by reminding the children how lucky we all are to have these special people in our lives and to have God as the caring Father of us all.
