Who Do You Say I Am?

Activity Objective

The young people will recognize how the Bible is a means to know Jesus.

Lesson Outcome

The young people should be able to describe some various images that the New Testament teaches us about Jesus.

Materials

?Poster paper
?Markers

Directions

  • Divide the young people into pairs or groups of three or four, depending on size of your group.
  • Assign each pair or group one of the following Scripture passages, which tell what Jesus called himself:

John 6:35 (I am the bread of life.)
John 8:12 (I am the light of the world.)
John 10:7 (I the gate for the sheep.)
John 10:11 (I am the good shepherd.)
John 11:25 (I am the resurrection and the life.)
John 15:5 (I am the vine, you are the branches.)

  • Direct the pairs or groups to read their passage and discuss its meaning.
  • Distribute art material and have them create a poster that depicts a scene from their passage or reveals the meaning of the passage.
  • Have each pair or group share their poster with the entire group.
