The CRS SMILE Kids Program helps young people gain important leadership skills. What skills do you think are essential in a good leader? Compose an acrostic poem using the word leader that uses the skills you identified.


Research how the CRS-sponsored SMILE Kids Program responds to the Call to Family, Community, and Participation. Then write a brief social media post that describes the program and the work of Catholic Relief Services.

Survey your classmates on the career or vocation they would like to pursue. Make a bar graph to display the survey results.

With a partner, write and perform a song or skit about a Catholic social teaching theme of your choice.

Write a story about Mary’s first day as an airline pilot. Include details about how she might be feeling and how her personal accomplishment benefitted her village.

Draw or use an app to make a word cloud that shows words associated with what it means to be confident.

Mary wasn’t very confident before she began participating in the SMILE Kids Program. Read Philippians 4:13 in the Bible. Draw a picture of yourself with Mary, the girl in the video, that shows you having the strength for anything through God. Include the text of the verse as part of your artwork. Consider using different media to enhance your artwork by using more than one medium or materials, such as cloth, newspaper, or found objects.

Write a prayer thanking God for his grace and asking him for the strength and wisdom to be of service to others now and in the career or vocation you choose.
