Loyola Press honored for children’s books and early learning faith formation programs

CHICAGO, Ill, October 3, 2019—Loyola Press was honored for exemplary publishing by the 2019 Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards. The publisher’s latest early learning faith formation program as well as another edition in the Loyola Kids book series were both recognized with medals.

Amy Welborn’s Loyola Kids Book of Catholic Signs & Symbols tied for the gold medal in the Religion/Spirituality category. Loyola Kids Book of Catholic Signs & Symbols offers an illustrated journey through the meaning and history of our faith.

Last year, Welborn’s Loyola Kids Book of Bible Stories received the silver medal for Religion/Spirituality. Welborn has contributed four titles to the Loyola Kids book series.

The engaging oversized activity book, God Made Me: Colors, Shapes, and Numbers won the silver medal in the Activity Book 1—Games, Arts & Crafts, etc. category. Loyola Press published the new edition of the God Made Everything early learning faith formation program earlier this year. The God Made Me: Colors, Shapes, and Numbers Big Book is an integrated component in the Age 3 program. The Sisters of Notre Dame, Chardon, Ohio authored the God Made Everything program.

The Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards honors books that inspire children to read, to learn, and to dream. Each year, entries are judged by an expert panel of youth educators, students, librarians, booksellers, and book reviewers of all ages.
