Loyola Press wins 3 Excellence in Publishing Awards

CHICAGO, May 26, 2020—The Association of Catholic Publishers granted Loyola Press three “Excellence in Publishing Awards” this year. The Jesuit publisher was recognized in two categories, Resources for Ministry and Spanish.

The Adaptive Teacher
by John E. Barone and Charleen Katra was awarded first place in the Resources for Ministry category while Julianne Stanz’s Start with Jesus received third place in the same category.

Citing over forty years of combined experience, in The Adaptive Teacher Barone and Katra offer catechists and teachers a framework for creating a welcoming and adaptive classroom space when working with learners with disabilities. The Adaptive Teacher is up for Resource of the Year, announced by the Association of Catholic Publishers in mid-June 2020.

Start with Jesus
is a book highlighting an inside-out approach to parish mission and community, stressing the importance of individual relationships with faith as a means for larger-scale community-building. The ideas presented are relevant not only for leaders, but for all who are curious about developing a relationship with Jesus.

365 días acompañados por los santos
by Carmen Aguinaco won second place in the Spanish category. 365 días acompañados por los santos is a daily devotional focusing on a saint and a reflection for each day of the year.

The Association of Catholic Publishers’ “Excellence in Publishing Awards” recognizes the best in Catholic publishing. Last year, Sharing the Wisdom of Time by Pope Francis and Friends and An Invitation to Love by Fr. William A. Barry, SJ, were honored.
