A Heart Seeking Goodness

A Reflection by Jonathan Sullivan

St. Paul’s admonition to the Corinthians reminds me that truth cannot be traded for personal desires or preferences.

Our modern culture would have us believe that truth is ephemeral and ever-changing. Our faith, on the other hand, holds that truth is found in the person of Jesus Christ, crucified and raised from the dead. In his triumphant Resurrection he demonstrates the truth of God’s promises and calls us to live in that truth by turning our backs on sin and humbly placing ourselves in his loving care.

Pray today that we may look at our lives truthfully, discarding those aspects that cling to selfishness and strengthening our trust in God’s promises.
