Can You Tell How I Care?

Activity Objective:
To help the children to show charity to others whenever they have an opportunity in their daily lives
Lesson Outcome:
The children will identify ways to live like Jesus by practicing the virtue of charity.
Directions:
  • Tell the children that this activity will help them to identify the many kinds of opportunities they have each day to practice charity toward others.
  • Have the children work in partners to think of and practice pantomiming an everyday activity in which they are practicing the virtue of charity. (comforting someone who is crying; helping a friend with schoolwork; washing and drying dishes)
  • When all are ready, invite pairs of children to take turns acting out their situation while the rest of the children try to guess what they are doing to show charity toward another.
  • If the group is unable to guess, give or allow the children to give one verbal clue at a time until the group guesses.
Learning Styles:
Body Smart,People Smart
Approximate Time:
10 minutes
Hints:
Walk around to make sure the children have chosen actions that are identifiable.
