People of Virtue

Activity Objective:

The young people will be able to identify how the virtues are made visible in those around them.

Lesson Outcome:

The young people should be able to explain the virtues of faith, hope, and love.

Materials

Directions:

Review with the young people the cardinal virtues.
Invite each young person to reflect on his or her family to see how the members embody one or more of the virtues.
Have the young people choose a family member and write a short letter thanking that person for his or her example of virtuous living. Encourage the young people to explain how practicing that particular virtue has helped them.
Direct the young people to bring the letter home and give it to the person they wrote about, or to send it by mail.
