Say It with Virtues

Activity Objective:
To define the Theological Virtues
Lesson Outcome:
The children will apply the meanings of the Theological Virtues to situations in daily life.
Materials
  • Paper (copier, construction, or card stock)
  • Markers or crayons
Directions:
  • Direct each child to design a greeting card for someone he or she knows who could use a message expressing faith, hope, or love.
  • Use the following definitions to get ideas of what to write:

Hope: the confidence that God will always be with us, make us happy now and forever, and help us to live so that we will be with him forever

Faith: a gift of God that helps us to believe in him. We profess our faith in the creed, celebrate it in the sacraments, live by it through our good conduct of loving God and our neighbor, and express it in prayer.

Hints:
Bring in a couple of greeting cards as examples. They may be cards of love and encouragement or other types of cards.
